Handicrafts depict the skill and art used in creating artefacts by skilled craftsman, whether they use their expertise on cloth, wood, marble, or, any other materials. Even in this age, this talent is passed through generations who depend on it for their livelihood. Because of industrialisation, the raw materials and metals have become very expensive, and yet, Governments of many countries are supporting these industrial people and communities! There by helping to raise the level of per capita income and independence of individuals who are self-reliant and depend on them for their living.
East India is famous for bamboo crafts and pottery products. Far Eastern region of India are famous for their creating and designing silk textiles. South and Central India is renowned for their wood crafts and stone carvings. North India is well-known for hand carvings of metal and beautiful but heavy embroidered garments. West India is famous for metal objects, glass, wooden and stone artefacts.
